Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup organic raw almonds
- 4 cups water
- cheese or muslin cloth
- nut pouch
- metal strainer
- blender
Directions
1. Soak the raw almonds overnight. Next morning wash and and place into blender. You may peel the almonds before blending. (I personally prefer them with the skin).
2. Add 2 cups of water and blend until the almonds are well ground and blended with the water. It should be thick and porridge like. You may use a spatula to move the mix and blend until you achieve the right consistency. Add the rest of the water and blend again for 1-2 minutes.
3. Place the cheese or muslin cloth or a nut pouch on the metal strainer that is sitting over a bowl. Pour the mixture through the cloth. Press firmly with a spoon until only the almond meal remains. (You can dry out the almond meal in an oven or a pan and use in your muesli or to create a healthy snack).
The almond milk is ready. Pour into a glass bottle or jar and store in the fridge. Consume within 3 days.
