The principals and practice of macrobiotics (from Greek: “macro” and “bios”, meaning large, long and fulfilling life) have been around since ancient times and have recently, once again, seen a major re-boot in the natural health communities across the globe. 

With raising concerns over air and water quality, chemical pollution, and to protect the body from harmful chemicals (found in every day food and even beauty products), it is a major challenge these days to keep healthy, youthful, and energetic. Practicing macrobiotics provides much needed, steady protection while helping maintain energy levels and give that special glow. 

The focus of macrobiotic nutrition is to create balance in the body with highest quality, whole food ingredients including grains, fresh vegetables, beans, fruits, nuts, seeds, pickles, fermented foods, herbs, seasonings, sea vegetables and teas. Since each person is unique, the balance requirements are also different for everyone. 

In this workshop Srdjan “Serg” Dobic, macrobiotic practitioner for over 30 years talks about what macrobiotics did for him and his family, including his mother, Mina Dobic, a cancer survivor of 30 years. Serg will give an introduction into the basic macrobiotic nutrition and teach how to start creating daily balance with preparing simple, yet tasty dishes.
